The aim of this STSM is to investigate the extension of an evolutionary multi-objective biclustering framework to support heterogeneous biomedical datasets. The framework relies on a complete encoding of biclustering solutions that enables optimisation from a global perspective, rather than evaluating individual biclusters independently. The planned work will focus on the design of novel global-perspective objective functions capable of handling mixed-type biomedical variables, including numerical, categorical, and binary clinical data. The research will be carried out in collaboration with the ORKAD research group at Université de Lille and will explore how global optimisation strategies can enhance existing approaches for heterogeneous biclustering in biomedical data analysis.
