Description

The objective of this STSM is to extend existing real-time algorithm configuration (RTAC) frameworks using collaborative portfolios. The new framework would solve a stream of optimisation problem instances using tournaments of parallel configurations, while exploiting intra- and inter-instance transfer to reduce solving times as well as detect and respond to drift. Island models and transfer optimisation methods will be implemented and evaluated to enable transfer between the algorithms, then new configuration update models will be developed based on algorithm contributions to the parallel portfolios. The proposed framework will be evaluated through extensive experiments and made publicly available.
