Description

The primary goal of this STSM is to advance the field of search-based automated repair of cyber-physical systems (CPS) by adapting and optimizing the Delta Debugging algorithm. The plan is to address uncertainties inherent in CPS, improve debugging accuracy, and reduce execution time for fault isolation. Activities will include preparing the Leo Rover simulation environment, formalizing the algorithm’s application, and defining an experimental setup. The planned stay at Simula Research Laboratory will involve collaborative workshops to refine methodologies, execute initial experiments, and establish a robust foundation for subsequent research efforts.

Achievements

This STSM achieved and exceeded its planned objectives. A novel adaptation of the Delta Debugging algorithm was developed, enhancing its robustness and efficacy for debugging uncertainties in cyber-physical systems. A comprehensive experimental setup and supporting scripts were created to automate testing and evaluation processes. Key outcomes include methodological advancements in automated repair techniques and the foundation for a forthcoming research paper to be submitted to a leading journal. The collaboration between Simula Research Laboratory and Mondragón University has strengthened future joint research potential, ensuring continued progress in addressing CPS challenges.
